The Global Fairness Initiative was founded by Karen Tramantano in 2002.

GFI promotes a more equitable, sustainable approach to economic development for the world’s working poor by advancing fair wages, equal access to markets, and balanced public policy to generate opportunity and end the cycle of poverty.

GFI does not have an application cycle for partnerships. Interested partners may reach out to info@globalfairness.org.

Yes. By supporting GFI, a 501(c)(3) organization, you become part of our team of change-makers in the struggle to secure the rights and livelihoods of the world’s working poor. Please visit the Donate page for further information.

There are many ways to get involved at Global Fairness. Here’s a list of key ways to make a difference:

  • Support our work with a donation
  • Apply to one of our open roles, internships, or fellowships opportunities.
  • Follow and share with us on social media. (We are currently on Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook)
  • Submit your resume to the resume bank for future consideration.
  • Reach out with an inquiry or an opportunity to connect.

We are always looking for an opportunity to engage in our community and on a global scale. We may periodically host events in which case you can find notice of these events via our social media.

GFI is proud to maintain a four-star charity rating on Charity Navigator, and Platinum rating on Guidestar.

GFI is interested in working with students and volunteers to help further our mission and programs. We offer unpaid internships each academic semester, including a summer program. To apply, please contact info@globalfairness.org.

Created in honor of Shirley Sapin in recognition for her commitment to equality and opportunity for all people, the Sapin Opportunity Fellowship was established to offer students in post-secondary institutions the opportunity to work for four months with the Global Fairness Initiative (GFI) on issues of economic development and workforce equity.
